Mid-America Science Museum is Arkansas’ largest hands-on science center and the state’s first Smithsonian Affiliate. With over 100 interactive exhibits that explore the wonders of energy, matter, life and perception, the Museum seeks to spark curiosity and enhance scientific understanding through inquiry and observational learning. Since opening its doors in 1979, the Museum has drawn over 3 million visitors. Mid-America Science Museum’s mission is to stimulate interest in science, and to encourage life-long learning with ever-changing interactive exhibits and programs designed to spark the imagination.
Experience the World’s Most Powerful Conical Tesla Coil (recognized by Guinness World Records™ in 2007), which produces 1.5 million volts of electricity, take a ride on our virtual reality simulator ride, explore the Arkansas Underground Cave, Dig for Dinosaurs and Build Structures that stand tall and sturdy. Mid-America Science Museum is located on 21 beautiful wooded acres. The dramatic 60,000 square-foot Museum also offers outdoor activities and a nature trail.
