What A Girl Wants
Daphne Reynolds (Amanda Bynes) has what every girl wants – or so it seems. This spirited young American girl has a unique style all her own, an unconventional but loving relationship with her bohemian mother Libby (Kelly Preston) but she's not happy. She's always wanted to meet her estranged father, who left her mom before she was even born. So, determined to meet her long-absent Dad, she hops a plane to London. There she quickly discovers that her father is a wealthy, high profile politician - Lord Henry Dashwood (Colin Firth). He welcomes the daughter he never even knew existed, but quickly discovers that she's just too much of a typical American teenage for his royal crowd. So to please him and win acceptance, she washes her hair, changes her wardrobe, and soon Lord Henry finds himself with a new daughter that is totally acceptable to his elite crowd. But Daphne still isn't happy. She realizes that this change isn't worth it if she can’t be herself. What's a dad to do? This modern update of last year's The Princess Diaries or The Reluctant Debutante of the 60's won't keep you guessing for long.
