Daddy Day Care
Eddie Murphy, plays Charlie Hinton, a product manager for Veggie-Os, "the cereal of the future." But when kids decide that they aren't the least bit interested in vegetables for breakfast, Charlie's future is in big trouble. Since Charlie's wife (Regina King) has a fine position as a lawyer, Charlie finds himself being a stay-at-home dad with his young son. Although he's not particularly successful as a father, he decides to start a daycare center for a pack of preschoolers in his home. He recruits two of his former coworkers, Phil (Jeff Garlin) and Marvin (Steve Zahn) to help him in his new endeavor. Of course there's competition from Miss Harridan (Angelica Huston) who runs a rival preschool. It claims to teach four languages, with a fifth (Portuguese) soon to be added. They're so advanced that they even prepare their students for their SATs for college. After Charlie and his buddies have been running their daycare center for a while and we get to watch a bunch of sometimes funny and often disgusting episodes with the kids, Phil finally admits to Charlie that they really don't really know anything about daycare. In fact, they're not even very good parents. But, of course, there's a corny, feel-good ending to prove that's not really true.
