In this computer-animated sci-fi twist on "Romeo and Juliet," the winged race of the Nohrin find their planet in ruins. Looking for a new place to live, they find the land of the Lockni, who welcome the Nohrin with open arms. Of course, that just leads to an eventual move by the Nohrin to take more and more land, with a racial hatred rapidly building between the two groups.

Unfortunately, love rears its ugly head when Delgo (voice of Freddie Prinze Jr.), a carefree but heedless Lockni teen, connects with the delightful rival Nohrin Princess Kyla (voice of Jennifer Love Hewitt) and violence between the two factions starts careening out of control. This leaves an opening for the evil exiled Empress (voice of Anne Bancroft) to wreak revenge and mayhem and take over once again. The Empress kidnaps Kyla, blames Delgo and incites a war. With sharp determination, if nothing else, Delgo sets out a rescue plan with the help of his lame best friend, Filo (voice of Chris Kattan), as they join a former foe, Bogardus (voice of Val Kilmer), to fight the good fight.

Although Delgo has all-star Hollywood voice talent and some imaginative visual effects, that only sharpens the contrast with the amateurish elements of its script, it's over-plotted story, and its under-written characters. It's too grim for kids and too dumb for grown-ups, so this computer-animated adventure will only appeal to 9-12 year-olds.
