Jimmy's Buzz Guide Review: It's cute, colorful and funny, but with few surprises.
Blending state-of-the-art animation with live action, Hop is a comedy about E.B., the teenage son of the Easter Bunny....
On the eve of taking over the family business, E.B. leaves for
Hollywood in pursuit of his dream of becoming a drummer. He encounters
Fred (James Marsden), an out-of-work slacker with his own lofty goals, who accidentally
hits E.B. with his car. Feigning injury, E.B. manipulates Fred into
providing him a place to stay, and Fred finds himself with the world's worst
What follows are typical scenes
in which the bunny ruins Fred's job interview, messes up the house in
which Fred is staying, and finally Fred agrees to take him to a talent search
hosted by David Hasselhoff (played by David
Hasselhoff), but in the meantime, Fred realizes that he would like to be
the next Easter Bunny.
Also featuried in the Live action cast are Kaley Cuoco as Sam O'Hare, Gary Cole as Henry O'Hare and Elizabeth Perkins as Bonnie O'Hare. The computer animated characters are voiced by: Russell Brand as E.B. Hank Azaria as Carlos and Philand Hugh Laurie as E.B.'s Dad.
Directed by Tim Hill ("Alvin and the
Chipmunks"), Hop includes some dazzlingly colorful sequences in the factory, but, it doesn't deal with much more than its "find
out who you are and what you want" storyline.
