Jimmy's Buzz Guide Review:
This entertaining documentary highlights the natural talents and show biz success of a bright young super star who was born to perform.

Justin Bieber: Never Say Never
Even if the offstage moments try too hard to present Justin Bieber as a typical teen (although he's surrounded by both wardrobe and security personnel serving as his surrogate family), the live segments prove that heís an extraordinary performer. Making effective use of the 3-D cameras, these sequences boast the same flash that director Jon M. Chu brought to his Step Up movies.

Bieberís battle to subdue a case of swollen vocal cords provides a dramatic arc for what is otherwise a conventional but well-packaged combination of concert documentary and history-to-date of the 16-year-old YouTube sensation turned pop superstar. Showing Bieberís family life and early incarnations as talent-show contestant and busker, followed by details about how backers Usher and manager Scooter Braun turned him into a show business phenom, portraying him as a Twitter-savvy underdog. His initial success came without the help of the Disney/Nickelodeon machinery that gave us the Jonas Brothers and Miley Cyrus (who makes a cameo appearance) and there's another cameo with Jaden Smith (Will's son and the star of "The Karate Kid").

Justin Bieber: Never Say Never starring Justin Bieber: DVD Cover While audiences who already have Bieber Fever get plenty of reasons to scream their heads off, even if you aren't already a fan, you may find yourself succumbing to his magnetic charm and undeniable talent.
