Those familiar voices make this bright, colorful and slightly goofy film unexpectedly pleasant, but it's basically for the kids, and they'll enjoy it.

Home on the Range
A new cow named Maggie (voiced by Roseanne) comes to live at the little Patch of Heaven farm, which is just about to be auctioned off. The matriarch of the farm animals, Mrs. Calloway (voiced by Judi Dench), a cow with a silly hat, resents the new addition to the barnyard, calling Maggie, "the original Mrs. Happy Heifer." Maggie in turn has her own putdowns. The third cow is Grace (Jennifer Tilly). Their mission is too earn enough money to prevent foreclosure on their ownerís ranch. Their path to success is blocked by a conceited stallion (Cuba Gooding Jr.) and some bad guys, led by Alameda Slim (Randy Quaid) and his chief henchman (Steve Buscemi). Alan Menkenís bouncy tunes donít disrupt the action, and the whole thing zooms along to a frenzied conclusion that the kids will want to watch again and again.
